How to Stop Spotify from Playing Suggested Songs?

To stop playing the suggested song on Spotify, you would need to Turn off ‘Autoplay feature’, Turn off ‘Enhanced feature’, and Turn off ‘Smart shuffle option’.

On my Spotify app also, suggested song was keep playing, but I found solution by doing some troubleshoot and found its reasons.

How to stop Spotify from playing suggested songs on Mobile

1. Turn off Autoplay feature

If you have figured out that the autoplay feature is turned on your Spotify, you should turn it off to avoid the suggested songs at the end of the album or playlist.

Go through the following pointers to turn off the autoplay feature:

On Mobile

• Launch your Spotify app on Android or iOS.
• Navigate to the gear icon of Settings.

• Scroll down the screen to the Playback section.

• Look for the option of Autoplay Similar Content.

• Swipe the toggle bar to turn off the feature.

On desktop

• Open your Spotify app.
• Head over to the profile picture icon.

• Look for the option of Settings in the menu list.

• Click on it.
• Select the option of Autoplay Similar Content by scrolling down the screen.

• Swipe the toggle bar to disable the feature.

2. Turn off Enhanced Feature

You should turn off the enhanced feature if it is enabled on your Spotify app. Once you disable this feature, you will be able to remove recommended songs that come after every two songs in your playlist.

Check the following steps to turn off the Enhance feature and stop playing recommended songs:

On Mobile

• Launch your Spotify app on Android or iOS.
• Tap on the option of Your Library given at the lower of the screen.

• Look for the playlist in which you want to turn off the enhanced feature.

• Open your playlist.

• Tap on the option of Enhanced to turn it off.

On Desktop

• log in to your Spotify desktop app.
• Go to the playlist in which you want to disable the option of Enhance.

• Spot the option of Enhanced to turn it off.

• Click on it.

3. Turn off smart shuffle

If you are a premium plan user, you know very well about the smart shuffle feature on Spotify.

This feature enables the suggested play tracks to keep playing. But once you disable it, only your selection of songs will tune on Spotify.

Go through the following pointers to disable the smart shuffle feature on Spotify:

On Mobile

• Launch your Spotify app on Android or iOS.
• Tap on the option of Your Library located at the bottom of the screen.

• Go to the playlist in which you want to turn off the smart shuffle feature.

• Open the playlist.

• Double-click on the option of criss cross arrows to turn it to white in color. In this way, you will be able to disable the feature of smart shuffle.

On desktop

• Open your Spotify desktop app.
• Open the playlist in which you want to disable the option of Smart Shuffle.
• Spot the criss-cross arrows symbol to turn it off.
• Click on it. Its color should be changed to white in color.

Why is spotify playing suggested songs?

1. Autoplay feature

Maybe you have turned on the autoplay feature on Spotify. The Autoplay feature doesn’t let the music end on Spotify even after music, songs, or albums end.

This feature starts playing the suggested songs at the end of your selected songs on Spotify based on your listening history and mood.

2. Enhance Feature

Another cause behind Spotify keeps playing suggested songs is that you have turned on the Enhance feature on Spotify. This feature is only available to the free plan users of the Spotify app.

If you have turned on this feature, you will get one suggested song after every two songs in your playlist.

3. Smart Shuffle

If you are a premium plan user, you will get the option of Smart Shuffle underneath your playlist on Spotify.

This feature allows Spotify to keep playing suggested songs. So, you should check whether you have turned on the Smart Shuffle feature or not.
